Hair composition – hair shaft

Last time we talked about hair roots, we know the importance of hair roots. Today we say the same important hair shaft: hair shaft is composed of hair scales, cortex and medulla.
The scales are arranged in a fish scale, about 6-12 layers, and some 27-28 layers, accounting for 10%-15% of the whole head, which mainly determines the flexibility and gloss of the hair. The scales can protect the hair. Without damage, its opening and closing is the key to determining the quality of your hair.
The cortical layer is the main component of the hair, which contains keratin, pigment particles, moisture, and moisturizing factors, giving hair elasticity, tension and toughness.
The medullary layer serves to transport nutrients to the hair. The soft hair does not contain the medulla layer, so the soft hair is usually easy to split and not easy to grow.
From the hair profile view, from the inside to the outside: the medulla, the core part, affects the gloss and color of the hair, and is easily changed by the dye and heat. External fiber – composed of two kinds of cells, accounting for most of the hair, the main components of the foot elastic protein and lipids. Hair scales – about 5-10 layers of hair scales on the surface of the hair, affecting hair moisturizing
And a smooth effect to prevent the loss of nutrients inside the hair.
When we are in hair care, we must be friendly to the hairs, provide them with a healthy environment, and minimize their damage to external causes, making our hair lose its elasticity and luster.
Therefore, in daily life, we need to reduce the number of perm and hair dyeing, and reduce the number of times to protect the health of the hair shaft so that they do not destroy the components of the hair shaft because of these injuries, making our hair healthy, elastic and shiny.
